BookMingle Terms and Conditions

Welcome to BookMingle! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the BookMingle application and website (referred to as the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Book Sharing:
   1. BookMingle allows users to post their books for others to see and borrow for free. Users can browse available books, chat with the owner, and arrange for book exchanges at mutually convenient times.
   2.  Book exchanges are solely the responsibility of the users involved. BookMingle does not take any responsibility for lost or damaged books during exchanges.
2. Social Media Platform:
   1. BookMingle provides a social media platform where users can share their book-related stories, images, and descriptions with other users.
   2.  Users are solely responsible for the content they post on the social media platform. BookMingle reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms and Conditions.
3. Data Collection and Usage:
   1. The Platform collects users' names, mobile numbers, and email addresses for the purpose of facilitating book exchanges and providing updates.
   2. Mobile numbers may be used to contact users in case they are late to return a borrowed book to the owner.
   3. Email addresses may be used to share news, blogs, and updates regarding the Platform. Users can opt-out of receiving these communications at any time.
   4. Data is stored in Firebase data store and is not shared with any third party.
4. UK Data Protection Compliance:
   1. BookMingle complies with the UK Data Protection Act 2021 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
   2. Users have the right to access, correct, and delete their personal data stored on the Platform.
   3. Personal data is processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently. Users are informed of the purposes of data processing and their rights regarding their personal data.
   4. BookMingle implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of personal data.
5. User Responsibilities:
   1. Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and security of their personal information provided on the Platform.
   2.  must not engage in any activity that violates the rights of others or the law while using the Platform.
   3. Users are encouraged to communicate respectfully and courteously with each other during book exchanges and social interactions on the Platform.
6. Termination of Access:
   1. BookMingle reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to the Platform for any user who violates these Terms and Conditions or engages in inappropriate conduct.
   2.  Users may also choose to deactivate or delete their accounts at any time.
7. Changes to Terms and Conditions:
   1. BookMingle reserves the right to modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Users will be notified of any changes, and continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms and Conditions.
8. Governing Law:
   1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the United Kingdom.
